That point is not an adoption defect to automate away. It is where value and accountability concentrate.

A constraint is not automatically good. But the human constraint marks the place where more capability must become intelligible before it can become useful.

I am claiming that machine capability can outrun the human capacity that makes output usable and answerable. I am not claiming that every human constraint is good, fixed or irreducible.
The thesis weakens wherever systems reliably increase a person’s usable capacity while preserving comprehension, judgment and practical authority. That is a test for the claim, not an exception to hide.
AI in the loop
Keep the principal visible.
“Human in the loop” begins with the machine and retains a person as checker, exception handler or brake.
I invert the frame. The human holds purpose, judgment and responsibility. AI operates inside that loop: searching, comparing, composing and executing within a boundary the person can inspect.
The human is the principal with machine reach.
Depth is the engine
Preserve the tunnel. Build a return path.
My natural mode is narrow and deep. The problem is not the tunnel; it is the cost of returning to it and carrying what I found into a form another person can receive.
Bob is the harness around that depth. It keeps the underlying record reachable, lowers the cost of re-entry and helps turn a private accumulation into a transferable artifact.
The system should amplify depth without pretending to own its meaning.

The boundary
Machine computes. Human commits.
A machine can generate options, compare evidence and compose a proposed act. It cannot acquire the human commitment that makes an irreversible choice answerable. The final yes belongs to a person.

Machine abundance becomes valuable where a sovereign human can receive it, judge it and commit through it. These projects test that claim from different directions.
